I live in a rural area, surrounded by apple orchards. It may sound odd, but as a result of my location, at times, I am plagued with fieldmice. I have nothing against mice, I just don't like having them in my house and car. Most mouse-control methods require use of dangerous and cruel poison bait. I don't like to use this because I have many pets in my home and am terrified that one of them might accidentally ingest the poison, plus I don't wish any animal a horrific death.
I HAVE FOUND A HUMANE, YET EFFECTIVE, SOLUTION--PEPPERMINT ESSENTIAL OIL!!
I leave cotton balls, or paper towels soaked with peppermint oil in foil or plastic recepticles, in the location where I have seen mouse activity. This past winter, both my house and car remained mouse free, and smelled good, too. The oil needs to be replenished every 2 weeks, or so. And you must use ESSENTIAL OIL.
