Ordered in a sniffie, for use in perfume making. Very intense, dark, and animalic. I'm excited to use this to add some darkness to my blends.

This is very animalic castoreum smelling with nuance of leather and incense- a good pick if you are searching for something with those notes. i will likely use it in trace amounts for blending in oils. purchases Standard concentration...

This is a darker scent that it's has what seems to be a bit of earthiness to it. It is definitely a scent that you would want to mix with something. It is a rich scent also. I do pick up a tiny hint of greenery but it's very subtle....

This is definitely one of those scents where a buying a sniffie of this before buying a large quantity is advisable.I agree with the other reviewers that this has a non-descript incense smell, but I detected very little musk. Definitely masculine and could be great as part of a Fall or Halloween blend. I was looking for a dark, but definitely musk scent, and will continue to try some of the other musks SOS offers....

(Ex. Con.) Strong OOTB. The description for this scent is pretty accurate. It smells like incense and strong sandalwood with a bit of jasmine and oakmoss. It is a little animalic, like castoreum /indole. Even though it smells masculine, I think it could be taken into a feminine direction with the addition of a floral note. This is not sweet and there is no vanilla in this....

got this as a sample sos con LOVE it already re ordered some. I own a metaphysical shop, this was just what i needed for some of my mystic blends and spell oils. customers love it "straight up" awesome combination with patchoulis, or ambers. would give it more than five stars if i could...

What to say? I am a big fan of SOS and a big fan of musk and incense and woods and all that is earthy and sweet ......but I do not like this BLACK MUSK, at all - smells like cheap incense from a dollar shop. Sorry SOS...

I agree, it is very masculine.Very incense-like. I'm not a fan of incense (it gives me headaches) but this smells great and is not too overwhelming like actual incense can be. Would be great alone or even better in a blend.

I agree that this is a simple, earthy type masculine musk. It has a kind of leathery edge to it that I like very much. While I was thinking of myself when I ordered it, I will be making gifts for the men in my family with it. It's nice. Certainly worth trying, I'm glad I got it....

Perhaps my SOS concentration sample isn't as strong as what the previous reviewer tried, but to me this is a very simple, rather light musk. Not white or blue or any other color musk, but a plain old musk oil musk, without the same warmth or depth something like Jovan musk oil has. It'll blend fine, so it's well worth the effort for perfume mixing, but I could wish for a deeper more gamey black musk like the Indian attars provide. Those have many more facets than this and are uniformly deeper, more dirty, chocolatey, woody...this is just musk. Not really black....

Got this as a Sniffie Sample. A very masculine musk scent that would be great for a mens cologne. I can almost detect a hint of forest or some other earthy quality to it. Smells nice!
