Strong and I don't know what Copal is supposed to smell like so I will be generous with this review, not my thing though. It smells a bit like grandma perfume but not floral if that makes sense. LIke a strong background note of a "mature" perfume. I got a sniffie sample and this is an OOB only review....

I got this in extreme and it smells like an essential oil. Adds a true woody note to any blend. Balsamic and "spiritual" if you're into that church incense feel. Recommeded!

I remember really enjoying this scent and thought to order it again. This batch however, unless the scent was reformulated is much weaker than I remember. MUCH WEAKER. I'm struggling to detect anything except a milky sweetness and a rather nondescript wood note. Maybe I got a bad batch. If this is ULTRA Con. I can't even imagine how SOS grade would smell. Surprisingly disappointing....

I purchased this in xtreme concentration. This is strong OOTB and smells a little like hot buttered rum candy with a subtle spiciness, a hint of smoke and citrus and ambery undertones. It smells really good!...

I got this in a sample pack as an Xtreme... I love this smell .. It goes well in a base for men's perfume.. It was a woody smell but not a strong smell ... It is nice vacation cabin relaxing cabin in the woods smell ... Made a cologne for my brother with this as a base note and my brother loves it... Good luck :)...

Ordered this as a sniffie, which comes in extreme concentration. I don't detect the citrus, but otherwise the description is spot on. It is smokey without being acrid, which is exactly what I hoped for when I ordered it. Right now I'm just wearing it as a perfume but I could see it doing well in other applications....

This is a wonderful woody, resinous scent. I made m&p soup with it and it is a top seller. I purchased the Ultra and have only used it in the soap and not in lotions or bath gels yet. Will try and update the post....

Fairly close to real copal resin, which most people would only recognize as a background scent in import shops. It's a resinous incense scent, very so slightly oily, maybe even with a hint of fruit or floral. This is close, but there's a plastic edge that develops in perfumes that makes it difficult for me to use in my blends....

I received an SOS sniffie of this. Very warm, woody, and earthy with a definite smokiness. This will work well as a blender with earthy notes in perfumery applications.

A unique scent, I like it very much. My nose smells notes of smoke, vanilla and rhum, some caramel too. I use xc, 8 ml to 250 ml of alcohol for lampe berger fuel.

I got this based on reviews here, and did not like it straight out of the bottle. I used it in a small batch of CP soap, however, (ultra concentrate) and as the soap cured the scent mellowed and sweetened. I like it. Not sure how I'd describe it or what I'd call it, since "copal" doesn't mean anything to anyone as far as I know. But nice....

I have never smelled copal resin, so can't compare for authenticity. To me it smells deep and like not-sweet-vanilla OOB. In CP soap, it becomes a bit drier, more earthy, and smells a little chocolately to me. Agree with other reviewers who mention it's on the dark end of smells and it's very attractive. In one batch, I hand whisked it in and it seemed to accelerate trace modestly. The next batch was a different formula and I was able to stick blend for a long time without problems. Does discolor to a med dark brown, slightly lighter when not gelled, but not much....

Copal is as earthy as one could want, moss?, smoke?, resin? HMMMMM Down right sexy as is. Mix with a light note and it is flesh magic when used as a body oil. Lingers and comments abound, men try this. Great for the dark end of smells. I like it!...

When I first sniffed this out of the bottle I was disappointed because it didn't smell like copal. But I tested it anyway. I was pleasantly surprised! I made incense out of it and after they had soaked and dried, the incense smelled just like copal resin which is exaclty what I wanted! I used the SOS grade. If you're looking for copal resin don't let the initial smell from the bottle turn you away. Try it in an application first! Great job!...

Wow this is nice. I mixed it with a little carrier oil and it dried down on my skin clean, warm and outright erotic. It's better than frankincense by far, there is no heaviness to it.
