I got this as a sniffie because it's hard to find a true peony scent (particularly the bowl of love variety). It's more of a rose meets tulip fragrance. There's something tropical and a bit of citrus missing to match the real flower's fragrance. It has potential though if you're mixing custom scents....

I love this scent. Used in a cold process and it smells like a day at the spa.

I do like it but it doesn't smell like peony to me that much. It actually smells so similar to your tuberose that I can barely tell the difference between them. (XC)

Used extreme concentrate on CP soap and solid perfume. I like the scent but thought it's not true to peony.

I am not a huge fan of this one. I got the sos con. and used it for oil burning, lotion, and salts. It had a sort of baby powder scent that was not that flowery to me.

Accurate rendition of the scent of peonys though a bit lighter and dryer. Smells just like a day in June, fresh, warm, light and sweet. I didn't notice any chemical scent at all in this. I used cosmetic grade sos concentration in a perfume blend and it adds just the right note. I once infused some peony blossoms in oil and your version is a more accurate scent and so much better. THANKS!...

I was not overly impressed with the scent of this oil (right from the bottle) as I felt it smelled sort of 'chemically'. I tested the ultra concentrate, mfg. grade in CP soap, mixing in the mid 80's, with a palm, coconut, olive, shea & castor oil (in that order) recipe. It did not react at all when added to the soap pot (no color or texture changes). The gel phase was a bit hot (but my molds are fairly thick wood) and has the 'crackled' appearance in the center of the loaf - this might be avoided by paying close attention to the insulation during gel phase and thereafter. Otherwise the batch tested fine. It does not smell like peonies to me - in my opinion the scent (1 week into cure) is a bit "powdery, flowery and old-ladyish" but my assistant (not an old lady :-) liked it....

The scent of SOS Peony is as wonderful in my HP soap as the smell of fresh cut peonies from my flower garden in the spring.
