Used in Soy wax candles and it does not burn correctly (in addition to Frankincense and Myrrh, a very dark oil). All of my other scents work fine with the HTP-104 wick and GW-464 wax. Something about the dark oil is plugging up the wick to complete failure....

Never smelled the original, but I love this one. My most popular incense this winter season, but i offer it year round because of one of my best customers. SOS concentration.

Balsam should smell like the tree in winter, fresh, clean and pungent. This balsam is all of that. I make incense, and it overpowers the rest of the scents I have. Glad, for it is only in the winter I use it....

I use the SOS conc. in solid perfumes and perfume oils. I've never smelled the YC candle, but I like how this smells. Blends well and would work as a stand alone.

To me, this smells like a real old fashioned Christmas tree in a cedar log cabin.

unfortunately Tammy is correct. We have been buying this for years, and it is different. Its not as bold and is missing the fir from the balsam, even the color of the oil has changed drastically. I will still purchase as a nice pine scent but can no longer state its the best one out there which is a shame... plus you have raised the prices for the ultra- which we use. I did speak with sos - who are wonderful people.... about the change- as i still has some of the older stuff around...and was told that as ingredients become more scarce, or prices go up they must accommodate..however sos you did this one wrong! As i told Kepa on the phone and via emails - we rely on the oils remaining the same and when you change them and don\'t tell us, we sell the oil to our customers as being the one they have had and well then we have to listen to them complain because we were left in the dark about the change. Then we look bad to our customers..WE use it in palm wax, paraffin and soy and many other ...

I have used this scent in my parafin blend candles with my company for a number of years. It has always been a customer favorite until the last lot of oil we purchased. I have to say it was not good. I am getting complaints that the scent throw is not the same and the aroma is different. If you have changed the formula...someone should have told us. I was very dissapointed and will not purchase this scent again....

i used the SOS in soy candles and this one was requested ALOT because of its true scent and not the "fake" scent you can sometimes get with alot of piney scents. i give this one 2 thumbs up!

I used this in soy candles. Very nice! Also very accurate scent...growing up in Maine, where most of the balsam christmas trees come from, I can attest! I will be purchasing this over and over.

Best Christmas tree scent I've found. Worked well in parafin candles. Will be wonderful to add to the room where a tree will be for the holidays to add fragrance since most cut trees don't really smell good....
