I think this is a delightful scent. I can't compare to the original, because I just don't know what the original smells like. I do think that it is different than sweet orchid, especially since that it is a scent that draws attention without you being aware that you are drawn in!...

Although it is an Oriental fragrance, is coiled within spicy, fruity and gourmand, leaving the orchid always in the background.

Unfortunately I smelled absolutely nothing OOB in my extreme sniffie sample, I added it to a scrub anyways but I'm not sure it really added anything to it. Maybe I got a bad batch?

I ordered this in the perfume spray. I'm not quite sure yet if I like it or not. It has a deep smoky incense smell to it. But, I also smell something metallic mixed in that I don't care for. I haven't smelled the original, so I can't compare it. I'll give it time and see if it grows on me....

I am not a fan.Everyone raves about the original and I have to say that, in general, I don't understand the hype about the scents created by Mr. Ford. That aside, SOS rendition of Black Orchid is VERY VERY spot on, there is no need to worry about that. SOS did a great job, they got it down. That being said, to me both the original and the SOS version smell like.....fig newtons. I know, the sacrilege! I purchased the SOS version in a sniffie pack and I tried it numerous times. Each time, I found the smell of figs---that sugary vinegar smell of dried fruit to be overwhelming. Though I did not enjoy it, I gave it three stars because the quality of the fragrance is an exact dupe of the original. I must say, it was much easier for me to call it a wash knowing that I'd spent mere cents for the SOS version rather than the three figure dollar amount of the original!...

I ordered the 2oz edp two months ago and I have loved it ever since. It is a dark and sensual scent that is one of a kind. This does lack some of the intense sweetness Black Orchid has, but I don't mind that. I honestly think this smells better on me. I've even received compliments from people I don't know. The longevity and sillage is amazing. This fragrance oil truly is of high quality. Definitely one of my favorites from SOS....

I have made lotions for about 7 years and I would have to say this is one of those scents you can not get enough of th scent.
Great scent for winter, give you a warm and sexy scent. Great stuff!

I ordered the XC. One of my customers loves the Tom Ford Black Orchid fragrance. I haven't smelled the original, but all I can say is that after adding some to body cream, the scent sang to me. This one is definitely a keeper...
