Ordered in a sniffie, for use in perfume making. This one smells oily with a faint whiff of gasoline. I don't really smell coal. I do think it could be useful though.

Fully coal tar smell. Packs a heady aroma! Brings me right beside a tar field. If you want a molten lava scent this will do it for you. Ordered sniffie.

I agree with another review that it smells like rubber. I have the sniffie sample and it's also sweet with a faint almond smell.

I try oils on the skin, as I'm a perfumer. This one went on exactly like pine tar and I got all excited, but dries very quickly down to the same slight mildew/cold concrete notes of Basement. There's a faint smokiness in there that Basement lacks, probably the coal feeling, but I wish that lovely dark tar onset lasted. It was what I really wanted. It's okay, but the coal/tar notes didn't last long enough....

more rubber than anything, and reminds me strongly of the rubber note in bvlgari black.

A cross between Oil and Paint Smell. Its good. I will find a use for it for sure. Has a sexiness to it. Bought in SNIFFIE.

I got the 1/2 oz. bottle so no application to write about. Smells like coal/gas/tar, something along those lines. No other scents in this. I love it. Very much a novelty scent.
