Well ummmmm, I'm from Texas. We use mesquite for almost all our grilling. I smelled this and it did not take me to my happy place in front of a warm crackling fire, with the cold air wisping the embers. It took me to a sauce making factory standing behind a woman with extremely too much perfume....

My hope when I ordered this item was that I would receive a dry, woody, smoky, mesquite scent to use as a mixer. Unfortunately, that is not what this scent is. It is definitely mesquite, but it has a bright, citrus-y, tomato-y "tang-y"-ness which evokes BBQ sauce more than a dry mesquite wood or mesquite smoke. For what it is, it works fine and is very strong. And if you have ever smelled the "Campfire" candles at Target, you are familiar with this mesquite note. I have not quite found a use for it yet, but I will continue to see if I can tone down the "sauce-y" quality of this oil. In summary, technically adequate, but not what I was hoping for....

What a unique and interesting fragrance! When I first rubbed my sniffie sample on my arm it smelled exactly like a campfire. But after a few minutes it sort of smelled like toasted cinnamon.

I'm not 100% sure I like this one. I was expecting something more smoky and woody... like a real campfire. It smells more like a grill that has just been used to grill BBQ. It's not a BAD smell... just not what I was hoping for. Very sweet....

Very sweet smelling like BBQ sauce. but nothing like campfire to me. SOS was very strong I used it in candles.

I was excited to get this one. (we burn our oils in burners in the shop) but we used it and It really wasnt my cup of tea, the smell was more of a smell that I couldnt tell what it was, but it wasnt horrible, a couple of the customers commented that it was a strong smell but wasnt wild about it. Maybe we got it to hot, I will try it in an electric burner next time to just keep it warm instead of hot....

I don't know what to say about this scent. It smells like a BBQ, but have no idea how anyone would really integrate it into a product. My curiousity made me try it......
