Bath Salts Instructions

Creating your own custom bath salts is great for the pocket book as well as for your image.  Many customers will pay a premium for highly scented, luxurious feeling bath salts that soothe muscles as well as help them relax.  This is always a value added to your other products in your line as well, and it is unbelievably easy!

Items needed to custom blend your own luxury bath salts:

• Medium-sized bowl

• Medium-sized baking pan

• Wooden spoon

• 1 cup unscented bath salts (fine, medium, coarse or blend)

• 1/8 cup epsom salts

• 1/2 tsp. SOS Liquid SilkBase (optional)

• 1/4 oz. fragrance (SOS concentration) - You will need to adjust for Ultra (to ~1/8 oz.) or Extreme (to ~1/16 oz. or several drops)

• FD&C water based colorant (if desired)

• Hand towels (if needed)

Making bath salts is very easy to do:

Step 1:  Mix the bath salts/ blend with epsom salt in a medium sized bowl.

Step 2:  Check your salts for any large, dark colored, or undesirable pieces and discard them.

Step 3:  Mix fragrance oil with SilkBase (Ingredients: cyclotetrasiloxane, cyclopentasiloxane) if applicable, stir, and pour evenly on salt mixture.  The SilkBase is optional but a little goes a long way and your salts will make the salts dry quickly and make you bath water even softer. Use the following chart as a guide:

Step 4:  Stir with wooden spoon until evenly blended.

Step 5:  Add a couple of drops of FD&C dye for color.

Step 6:  Spread the mixture evenly to cover the entire pan.

Step 7:  Let sit overnight or for a few hours.

Step 8:  Package as desired.

Be sure to adjust your formula accordingly for larger or smaller batches.
