This fragrance sets the bar for Ambers. I have not smells exactly how I would imagine amber would smell. If I purchase it from another company, I would be surprised if it can top this one.

Love the scent however, something must have changed in the formulation and I was not told about it and that it will not work in making candles period! I made and sold candles to my customer and they told me it would not burn!
This was my customers Christmas gift to her father and I felt so bad.
I tested it thinking it only needed a 1 size larger wick...well it wouldn't burn for me just with a 1 size larger wick!
I tried using the largest wicks I have and it would not burn regardless of what huge wick I put in the wax!
I've been making candles for 16 years so trust me, I know my oils and waxes and wicks. The formula must have changed for this one not to burn at all. I've never had this ever happen with any oil I've ever used.
Such a shame...such a nice smelling oil....

Its very light in the sniffie. Can't tell much about it. But if It were a little stronger, I would like it.

I use the SOS conc. in solid perfumes and perfume oils. A good, spicy warm note. I like it, it rounds out my fragrances well.

This amber is wonderful, soft, great for mixing with other fragrances. SOS works well in soy candles.

Purchased Ex-Con. This version of Amber is warm and faintly sweet with powdery notes on the drydown. It is not spicy, salty, animalic, vanillic or cloying. Just a good all-around Amber. I found that it blended well with other notes in my perfumes (especially sandalwood and vanilla)....

Nice rich amber with resinous tones. One of the better fragrance oil versions of amber. This is a staple in my cupboard.

I received this as a xc sniffie, It smells nice and sweet, just about exactly what I was hoping for...It will be good alone or if your looking for a smooth mixer...caramel and vanilla like almost..

*****okay, all you past reviewers of this scent need to get a bottle of real Amber EO and smell it. This is it. I love it. I like it alone and as a mixer in all kinds of blends. Can't do without this one. It's more like real Amber EO than any other I've tried anywhere. Has just the right balance of sweet and piney resin. When you are trying to re-create a scent that contains Amber use this. You will get closer than with any other amber on the market. Thank you SOS for this one. Great! I just buy sos concentration in all and am very happy. I use it in bath bombs, bubble bars, body sprays, glycerin soap and dusting powder....

SOS concentration. Came with floaters, yuck. Washed out amber. Not rich, warm, and golden. Will most likely use as a mixer with woods and spices.

At Extreme concentration, I have to admit that I was somewhat disappointed in this amber, compared to other synthetic ambers that I have purchased. It is nice, but not rich and smooth like I have usually associated with amber. It is a bit too watery (both is structure and scent) and snappy (much like pepper). I wish it was a bit more complex, but I doI think it is an interesting scent, though, and I'm look forward to playing with it in some blends....

make sure you order a test sample first for this one I ordered the Extreme concentration for perfume making this smelss very spicy and peppery to me it was more like black pepper than amber I was disappointed with this one...

Very soft fragrance, pleasant, but not really what I think of when I consider an amber note. The description of the FO is fair, describing it as layered, sweet, spicy, and with a deeper earthy undertone. I can't decide if I like it or not, to be honest, but I think it would make a fairly nice mixing option with something more spicy. Might work well in incense and almost certainly would be nice in candles. Tested in Extreme Concentration in carrier oil on the skin as a perfume....
