Sweeter than black licorice. For me this is like black licorice with nail polish remover.

I buy this in the Ultra for one of my incense blends, and it's the perfect strength. A good solid anise, I will be buying more.

i thought i would get a licorice scent what i got was more astringent smelling. this one is no for me.

Concentration: SOS; Application: Perfume test strip, M&P soap; Bar none the best "licorice" scent ever. Smells like melted licorice bites, and I'm not a big fan of the candy, but I do like fennel. Does discolor slightly, but the scent is true and nostalgic. Will try a higher concentration next time, because I had to use more of the SOS than I typically use in order to keep the richness....

These reviews were helpful here! I really craved anise, but of course I wanted it to be not only good, but smellable! So I ordered ultra concentration and it's quite nice! But it's still quite gentle, and I'm just using a lot of it to make it speak, and next time I'll probably go for Extreme....

I should have got the ultra... the SOS isn't as strong as the sniffie. It's still good though but the ultra is almost exactly like the EO.

I bought the XC and oh my goodness it smells EXACTLY like anise pure essential oil. It smells just like black licorice candy. Very sweet and even a little fruity.

I had a similar experience as the previous reviewer. This scent is very weak in SOS concentrate. I wanted to use this as the black licorice note in these Halloween blends I am formulating. I bought this after being disappointed with the licorice oil, but you know what ? They both smell identical. I'll re-purchase this in a stronger concentration next time I place an order....

I bought this in the SOS concentration and I found the scent to be extremely weak. I attempted to use this on it's own as a perfume oil and I could barely smell it. After 10 minutes the scent was completely gone. When I bought this, I had been planning on using it in a mix but didn't bother because I thought the scent would just get lost. If you buy this, definitely get the "Ultra" or "Extreme" concentration.
Although the scent was pleasant, I had expected it to smell more like anise essential oil. It was a little bit different.
I may repurchase this in the Extreme concentration, but I'm probably going to try out their "licorice" fragrance oil first. Maybe that will be closer to what I am looking for....

I use the extreme concentrate for incense. It's a true anise/black licorice scent and it's very strong, so a little goes a long way.

Being a new customer to SOS, I decided to purchase many samples of designer women's fragrances. I was very pleased with my purchase which arrived very quickly and smelled delicious!! I ordered Angel which has received huge compliments everytime I have put it on. My fiance loves the Tiffany scent. I myself love the Sensi, and the Ysatis is practically identical to the original in every way. I also purchased the Baby Magic scent which smells great to wear before going to bed, or when your hanging out at home. Again, I have received so many compliments everytime I wear a different scent. (I purchased 12). I am now on my third order already ....wanting to try the Mania and Victorias Secret Scents. I have yet to try my other 9 scents out, but they still smell wonderful in the bottle. Now I have recommended all my friends and co-workers to this site, so they too can smell just as good as me!! .....Wait a miniute....should I have done that!!! hahaha....Thanks to SOS, I can smell fantastic ...
