a fairly true to form black currant--slightly skunky/animalic right off the top, with a very slight fruitiness and some crisp green freshness coming in from underneath. don't expect to use this in a soap or candle solo, but it can be a part of some beautiful blends....

(Ex. Con.) Strong OOTB. I have to agree with the other reviewers. This smells fresh, green and fruity. It does have a subtle wine-like characteristic, and it is not as dry and bitter as red currant.

This is a very green blackcurrant scent - I was hoping for more of a berry thing to be happening, but it seems like it's less about the fruit and more about the plant. That being said, it's at least a good green. Not exactly what I was looking for as a fruity scent, but a good blackcurrant is hard to find....

I've tried black currant from other companies and they were very sweet and candy-like but this is more natural to the real scent of black currant. However, it almost has a soap character to it. I think you could do better and bring in a richer raisin-like fragrance to it. I give it three stars because it's not bad but it could improve....
