i don't get much maraschino from this at all--just strong, overpowering cherry cough syrup.

This is a yummy, sweet cherry scent: just like maraschino! I bought the ultra version and used it for whipped shea butter. It gave my butter a strong, sweet scent. If you want a sweet, candy-like cherry, this is it! Will buy again....
