This is AMAZING. I've never smelled the original, but this is rich, mellow, and malty, with hints of sweet and faintly overripe fruits. There's just touch of warm woodsy notes underneath. I get notes of hops, malted barley, and pale stalks of wheat.... you won't be disappointed if you're looking for a scent to lend a sort of sweet malty note to blends, or as a stand alone scent. I ordered the Extreme concentration to use in perfumes and I'm back to order a larger size. This is a little pricier than some blends, but it's worth every penny and I hope that SOS continues to carry it as it is, without reformulation due to expense. This is liquid gold... but it makes me think of deep purple, like the fruit on my grandmother's Damsen tree when I was child. Deep, dark, dusky with pale frosty haze over the skin....
