We received this one as a sample and it is NOT your typical Bayberry, It actually smells something like Dicken's Christmas with a green notes twist. Love it but its not the Bayberry we're used too.

Not the usual bayberry scent. I get cinnamon bark, cloves, spiced wood, like mulling spices, a hint of something that makes me think of apples, but that might be the mulling spice suggestion. Not a green scent at all but I bet this blends magnificently with pine notes. I MUST try this with Scentsy type Christmas Tree. Maybe a touch of mint for a snow feeling...really does smell like true cinnamon bark, too, rather than red hots or some of the other artificial cinnamon scents. So more woods and spices than green bayberry, but definitely a keeper. I make perfumes and soaps. Tried the sniffie...

Very nice! i can wear this as a holiday scent, and i don't feel overtly spicy, or overtly woodsy. It has a very balance of earth, wood, spice. Love it.

Ordered this in Ultra for Christmas Season sales and it is fantastic! An herbal spicy version of bayberry. My customer's loved it. In three weekends at the farmer's market we sold every bar I had made for the whole season. Thanks to quick service by SOS I ended up selling 3 times the amount I had anticipated. We had customer's continue to ask for it into the spring!
It does accelerate trace in CP, but It is slowed by using oils at about 90 degrees and lye water cooled to around 55 degrees. It discolors a light tan, but since I colored it a light olive green, it turned out quite pretty....

Concentration: Ultra
Application: Perfume test strip, M&P soap
Christmas in a bottle. Scent held up very well in soap and remained true to the test strip. Woodsy is a great way to describe the way the scent hits your nose. Starts with heavy pine, then opens up into warm spice and finishes with a hint of berry. If you're looking for something sweet and fruity or tangy with a winter feel, this one's not it, but it is more of a seasonal choice, in my opinion....

Wasn't what I was expecting. The people who ordered it seemed happy with it. It's a very slight berry scent along with a heavy herb scent. I like it. But it's more woodsy than berry.

Great "Standard" Holiday scent! I loved it. It had a good throw off the sample, will let you know if it's as good as I say after making hundreds of candles! [Ecosoya Advanced & Pillar Wax]
